In the city that never sleeps, it’s always Brunch o’clock. If there’s one thing I absolutely adore about visiting a new city, it’s discovering the best breakfast bars and lunch spots! New York City proved to be a paradise for a brunch lover such as myself, so I’ve rounded up all of my favourite places to grab a quick bite, enjoy a healthy juice and do the mandatory people-watching.

Sit back, relax and get ready for some mouth-watering brunch tips for when you visit New York City!

1. The Butcher's Daughter

The Butcher’s Daughter is an established value for those who love pure food, clean juices and lots of vegan options. With a number of different locations all over the city, you’ll always have a TBD nearby. Take the vegan Chicken Milanese (which might taste even better than an actual chick sandwich!), the Brazilian Blast acai smoothie and grab a health shot for on the go. I went for the Vampire Slayer, a mixture of ginger, lemon, garlic and cayenne.

📍Location: The Butcher’s Daughter West Village, 581 Hudson St.

2. Sarabeth's

There’s a Sarabeth’s to be found in every neighbourhood, with up to 7 restaurants on the Island of Manhattan alone! I chose the one near Central Park, mostly because it’s the one featured in Gossip Girl. A place where the Vanderwoodsen’s like to go for their family brunch is a place I have to try out for myself! The interior of this place is a little dated but the food is really good. It was the French Toast with strawberries that seduced me, the boyfriend went with Eggs Benedict. The menu is filled with classic brunch options, go for the Four Flowers Juice as well.

📍Location: Sarabeth’s Central Park, 40 Central Park Street.

3. Jack's Wife Freda

Another one of those brunch places you always see on instagram during NYFW is Jack’s Wife Freda, an “all-day bistro” between Bleecker and Bedford that won’t dissapoint. Literally everything on the menu screamed ‘order me’. I went for the Eggs Benny and the most delicious granola bowl, and washed it all down with melon juice and refill coffee. The space is tiny and there’s no terrace and no reservations, but the wait is usually not too long. Great neighbourhood for shopping and people-watching as well.

📍Location: Jack’s Wife Freda, 50 Carmine Street.

4. Sunday in Brooklyn

Fancy a stack of pancakes? You’ve arrived to the right spot! Order the Hazelnut-Maple Praline Pancakes and let your waiter know if you’re in it for a one-, two- or three-stack. Pictured above is the two-stack, which already proved to be a challenge to eat! Amazingly tasty if you’re into sweet things tho. The avo toast is a total winner as well! Come here for the relaxed vibes, great service and all-day brunch. Sunny day? Grab yourself a table on the front terrace and enjoy some Brooklynite watching.

📍Location: Sunday in Brookly, 348 Wythe Ave, Brooklyn.

5. Tacombi

I’d seen this place pop up on Instagram so many times that I knew we just had to visit. Never able to resist good Mexican food, we headed to Tacombi for lunch. We went for the Tacombi in Nolita, an open space with great ambiance and an even better menu! You can make a reservation online or just pass by – it’s usually only a very short wait to be seated. The portions are small but so are the prices, so you’ll get to order 3 – 4 different dishes per person. Start off with the delicious guac and follow up with sweet potato tacos, pollo quesadillas and one of the very colourful lemonades.

📍Location: Tacombi Nolita, 267 Elizabeth Street.
